About us
The 6th Fermanagh Scout Group serves the community of Irvinestown and surrounding areas, and is at the heart of Scouting in County Fermanagh.
The group was established in 1934, and has been growing ever since. It comprises three sections, Beavers (P3 and P4), Cubs (P5, P6 and P7), Scouts (secondary school aged children) and Ventures (aged 16+).
It aims to provide high quality scouting to its youth members by delivering the Adventure Skills program which teaches and develops lifelong skills. During the previous Scouting year (2021/2022), all sections completed their Backwoods, Hillwalking and Pioneering badges.
Scouting Ireland is one of the largest national youth organisations in Ireland, dedicated to the development of life skills for young people. Since 1908, young people in Ireland have been involved in the Scouting movement. Today, Scout groups in Ireland involve over 35,000 young people and 12,000 volunteers.
The aim of Scouting Ireland is to nurture the personal development and non-formal education of young people through the Scout Method, which is an approach unique to Scouting throughout the world.
